A very special

gift for your very special baby ...

The perfect, personalized

baby shower gift

Great for housewarmings, too. Can be made into a wall hanging or a crib or lap quilt.

The panel and coordinating fabrics make a unique gift that helps the little one learn to read. In the style of Eric Carle's "Very Hungry Caterpillar" this quilt is easy and fast.

Featuring notable landmarks of Southern California, you'll play "I Spy" with your grandbaby for years to come.

Keep it age appropriate, and you can easily embellish this with embroidery or charms or make it into a "busy blanket" with some Velcro, zippers, buttons, snaps and similar.

From the Hollywood sign to Zzyzx Road, you'll be playing "I Spy" with your grandkids for years to come. From learning the basic letters of the alphabet to discovering some of the landmarks that make Southern California such a unique part of the world.

You'll complete it in a jiffy or just a smidge longer, depending on whether you elect the whole cloth panel or the pieced version. Either way, you'll be creating a unique, educational keepsake that will help your special youngster to master the necessary reading skills with a bit of fun.

Albuquerque artist Tammy Wenderlich has developed this alphabet panel specifically for new moms, moms to be and grandmoms to be.

Tammy Wenderlich is a textile designer and illustrator from New Mexico. Her work is inspired by the vibrant colors and whimsical wildlife of the Southwest.

When not making art, Tammy can be found in her garden, walking the trails with her dogs or weightlifting with her husband, Neal. Together with Neal (a woodworker), Tammy owns Desert Bird Mercantile in Albuquerque's historic Old Town.

Combining saturated visual art with tactile fabric is Tammy's

main focus and she is thrilled to collaborate with Hip Stitch

on this collection.
