Scrappy Sewcial

Scrappy Sewcial

It's a scrappy sew day! Join fellow makers for a relaxed, joyful day of scrappy sewing. Bring a project in progress or dive into something new. Feeling adventurous? Try the “no-fabric challenge” Leave your stash at home and sew from our community baskets, sorted by color!

Most quilters and sewists are always generating scraps. And this is your chance to turn them into one-of-a-kind, eco-friendly creations. It’s a great way to make your hobby feel a little more “sew-stainable.”

Note: If you’re bringing scraps to share, please limit them to quilting cottons only. After the event, our staff will sort through leftovers and remove non-quilting fabrics for donation or resale.

What’s Included?

  • Full use of our classroom and tools. Including large work tables, design wall, scissors, irons, and more
  • Bring your own sewing machine, or reserve one of ours (just let us know in advance)
  • Feel free to bring drinks and snacks for yourself or to share (kitchen and classroom only)
  • Access to color-sorted baskets of quilting cotton scraps. Bring a gallon baggie of your scraps to contribute, and you’ll get to take home a new bag full at the end!

Important: This is not a formal class. It's a casual, social sewing group hosted by Julia. It’s all about community, inspiration, and fun! While it’s not instructional, we’re all happy to help one another out. Off-duty staff may be stitching right alongside you because scrappy sewing is for everyone!

Can’t find what you need on the communal "Great Mount Scrapmore"? You’re always welcome to browse the shop!
