Half a Heart 5in Finished Block Pattern (PDF only)

In 2025 each month attendees at Julia's Paper Piecing Club will receive a free printed copy of a 5" FPP block template/pattern designed by Julia (or a  Guest Designer) to either work on that day or take home for later. Some months will be "seasonal" designs, some will be traditional quilt blocks converted into FPP patterns, but all will be a surprise each month! Some months Julia will be making her original pattern available for purchase as a PDF download after the fact. This happens to be one of those patterns.

Half a Heart gives you the opportunity use as few as 2 fabrics (to create a "whole" heart) up to 4 fabrics (if you feel the need to split your heart in half between two favorite fabrics, each with it's own background). It's your choice! Print the pattern 1t 100% to create a block that finishes at 5inches (5.5 inches unfinished), reduce the pattern for a smaller block, or increase the printing percentage for a larger block. Each 5 inch finished block uses a small amount of fabric for each piece. Julia made one sample with charm squares (but it was a bit of a stretch so if you are new to paper piecing, give yourself a little extra fabric to work with). Very scrap-friendly!
