With a palette reminiscent of the interiors of New Mexico Missions, this kit remembers those who welcomed the newcomers from Spain, too.
We call it Crisol de Claire, or Claire's Crucible to signify the blending of cultures that makes New Mexico such an incredible place. Claire used the popular "Bounce" pattern when combining panel and field fabrics for this Southwest themed quilt kit.
Using imagery of a familar young lady who just might have appeared near Guadalupe, the metallics in the panel prints are echoed with metallics overprinted on the Grunge and Speckled jewel-tone field fabrics. Those field fabrics which conjure the jewelry, weaving and pottery from the folks who were here first.
Here's hoping that we all can become more civilized. As an anthropology professor said, "It's impossible for two cultures to come in contact without each transferring to the other."
Measures 49 by 65. Kit includes all fabrics to make the top, the pattern, and binding.
